Description
This Ammonia Absorber was used in the Thomas By-Product Coke Plant in Birmingham, Alabama. Waste ammonia from the plant was mixed with sulphuric acid to produce Ammonium Sulphate, a fertilizer. Our model is a somewhat simplified version, but retains the correct dimension and makes it easy to plumb and model. Our model is supplied with Ammonia Absorber body, Tichy Caged ladder, 1x U Pipe with clean out, 1x U Pipe (plain), Crossover pipe, Gage Valve, 3x 1/4″ 90° Elbow, 2x Clean out Hatches, 1/4″ x 6″ Evergreen Styrene Tubing, 1x 1/4″ Clean Out Cap, 1x 1/4″ 45° Elbow, 1x 1/4″ Coupler, 1x 1/8″ Coupler, 2x 0.035″ x 4″ Evergreen Styrene Rod, 1x 5/8″ x 5/8″ x 1/2″ Absorber to Main Coupler Tee, Instruction Sheet.
Also great for a freelanced Fertilizer Plant! Add our 137,000 Gal Glass Lined Storage Tank for your sulphuric acid deliveries.
HO Scale Absorber only footprint is 5.125″ x 3″ x 5.375″ tall.
Note: Should you chose to connect your Ammonia Absorber to your By-Product building to produce Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer, an 1/8″ Tank Flange is provided, but the model will need to select and add the appropriate 1/8″ fitting, flange rings, and/or valves to their order. These are not provided, as I cannot predict what everyones configuration will be.
Note: Add a Utility Shack as a small pump house to transfer the Ammonia / Sulphuric Acid mixture to your by-product building to add interest to the scene!
