Description
These Calcium Carbide Containers were transported in specially equipped Gondolas, and used into the 1950’s and early 1960’s. Calcium Carbide is used in Steel Making, Acetylene production, Carbide Lamps, and the production of Calcium Cyanamide. It is also used as a ripening agent in the fruit industry.
